Photo Booth Tips & Tricks
Getting the most out of your photo booth rental is important to us! We want to have fun at your event too, and that means making sure your guests get the most out of it.
Start Early and Keep it Going
You want your photo booth to be open as your guests arrive or as cocktail hour is getting started. Having your photo booth open early will get your guests interacting and having fun. It will give everyone something to do before dinner, dancing, or other activities get going. It is one of the first impressions your guests will have of your event.
Keep the photo booth open until the end of your event or last call. Give your guests the opportunity to comeback again and again. As your event goes on your guests will loosen up and have even more fun. Blame it on the alcohol, but the photos at the end of the night are always more fun than the beginning.
Get Your DJ Involved
Have your DJ make the occasional announcement to remind your guests to take more photos in the photo booth and to make a closing announcement 15-30 minutes before. A great photobooth DJ relationship always makes an event more successful!
Location, Location, Location
We want to be in the action. Put the photo booth close to the dance floor or the bar. Guests won't have to wander far from the rest of your party to take more photos and you will find that it will keep the photo booth busy all night long.
We don't want to be right next to the band or DJ speakers though. Some of your guests may need help with their pictures or picking props. Keeping us away from the band or speakers will help your guests be able to hear us better if they have questions or need help.
We can set-up outside, but the area should be well covered and protected from the elements. Our set-up works best if our background is set-up against a wall, with an electrical outlet within 15 feet.
Don't Forget to Visit the Booth Yourself
We know you are busy hosting the party and its hard to be everywhere all at once. But please make sure you stop by and take a few photos too. You will thank me later.
Your guests will enjoy being able to grab a quick photo with you that they may not have otherwise gotten.
Make it Personal!
We want to create the most personalized photo booth experience for you. We will customize a design for your photo booth prints with all of your party details (event name, wedding of, date, hashtag, etc). You can also add a custom start screen to your booking for an extra personal touch. Customized start screens can be customized with color, theme, wording, and even a picture.
You can also add props to our set-up that might have a personal meaning to you or event. Do you and your soon to be spouse share a love of a certain football team or do you do a specific activity together? Please feel free to bring props to showcase those interests. We have even had couples print up "Big Head" props of themselves or their dogs to be included.
Leave the Neon Signs
While adding neon signs to photo booth backgrounds have become all the rage in the last few years, they are seldom executed well. Neon signs either get hung too high and are not even in the photo booth pictures, or they are hung too low and get blocked by people's heads or props. If you really want to use a neon sign we will accommodate as best we can. Instead I would suggest putting your sign to use by your cake table, over a mantle, or DJ booth. A vignette set-up with a couch or chairs in front of a background where your guests are seated and the sign hangs behind them is also an option.
Consider Larger Print Size
Vignette areas at weddings are trending right now. If you are planning on using a vignette set-up with chairs, couch, etc along with a background for your photo booth, then you should consider upgrading to larger prints with a single photo per session instead of a photo strip with 3-4 photos with a logo. We can still create a custom frame or logo overlay for your 4x6 prints to customize your prints. Choosing the larger size will better showcase your vignette. If you do want to create a vignette set-up, this would be the perfect place to add a neon sign in the background if you want. Please just let us know so we can prepare for your event.
